# Todo vs Pocket Lists

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pocket Lists at free with in-app purchases against Todo's subscription. Pocket Lists also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). Todo's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Todo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Pocket Lists sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pocket Lists holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 397 and 1.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Todo's written reviews are positive against 42% of Pocket Lists's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Todo ships an update every 2 months, Pocket Lists every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
