# PenScore vs ScoreKeep

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ScoreKeep at 100% against PenScore's 14%. ScoreKeep also leads on rating (5.0 vs 2.7) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 8 months). PenScore's advantage is ratings volume (81 vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PenScore sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ScoreKeep sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScoreKeep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PenScore has 81 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 14% of PenScore's written reviews are positive against 100% of ScoreKeep's.

PenScore ships an update every 8 months, ScoreKeep every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
