# Tripsource vs NorthStarVIP

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NorthStarVIP at 80% against Tripsource's 39%. Tripsource's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 11) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tripsource holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tripsource has 13K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Tripsource's written reviews are positive against 80% of NorthStarVIP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tripsource ships an update fortnightly, NorthStarVIP monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
