# Secure Notepad vs Play Privacy

The clearest difference is update cadence: Play Privacy at every 5 days against Secure Notepad's every 5 months. Play Privacy also leads on review sentiment (94% vs 70%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Secure Notepad's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (13K vs 35). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Play Privacy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secure Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Notepad has 13K ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Secure Notepad's written reviews are positive against 94% of Play Privacy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secure Notepad ships an update every 5 months, Play Privacy every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
