# Secure Notepad vs CalcPlus

The clearest difference is update cadence: CalcPlus at fortnightly against Secure Notepad's every 5 months. CalcPlus also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Secure Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and CalcPlus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CalcPlus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Notepad has 13K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Secure Notepad ships an update every 5 months, CalcPlus fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
