# GPS Speedometer vs custometer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: custometer at none against GPS Speedometer's 10. custometer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). GPS Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Speedometer sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. custometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

custometer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Speedometer has 1.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of GPS Speedometer's written reviews are positive against 60% of custometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Speedometer ships an update every 3 weeks, custometer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
