# Backpacker™ vs The Chase

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Backpacker™ at 5.4K against The Chase's 544. The Chase's advantage is chart position (#174 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backpacker™ sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per 7 days and The Chase sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Backpacker™ against 4.7 for The Chase. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backpacker™ has 5.4K ratings behind it against 544, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of Backpacker™'s written reviews are positive against 75% of The Chase's.

Backpacker™ ships an update every 6 weeks, The Chase every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
