# Startrack GPS vs VAS

The clearest difference is rating: Startrack GPS at 4.8 against VAS's 3.5. Startrack GPS also leads on ratings volume (15 vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.1). VAS's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Startrack GPS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. VAS asks for nothing beyond the download.

Startrack GPS holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Startrack GPS has 15 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Startrack GPS's written reviews are positive against 100% of VAS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Startrack GPS ships an update monthly, VAS fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
