# Hive vs Perkbox

The clearest difference is rating: Perkbox at 4.8 against Hive's 4.2. Hive's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (802 vs 13). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Perkbox holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hive has 802 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 18% and 18% positive.

Hive ships an update fortnightly, Perkbox every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
