# Custom Compass vs Color Flashlight

The clearest difference is update cadence: Color Flashlight at every 2 months against Custom Compass's every 12 months. Custom Compass's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Custom Compass sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Color Flashlight sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Custom Compass ships an update every 12 months, Color Flashlight every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
