# SimpleMapCreator vs Font Maker

The clearest difference is rating: Font Maker at 4.4 against SimpleMapCreator's 3.8. Font Maker also leads on ratings volume (8.1K vs 5) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months). SimpleMapCreator's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Font Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. SimpleMapCreator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 8.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of SimpleMapCreator's written reviews are positive against 20% of Font Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SimpleMapCreator ships an update every 3 months, Font Maker every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
