# SimpleMapCreator vs Book Creator

The clearest difference is rating: Book Creator at 4.5 against SimpleMapCreator's 3.8. Book Creator also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (3.8K vs 5). SimpleMapCreator's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 18) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Book Creator sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. SimpleMapCreator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Book Creator holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Book Creator has 3.8K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of SimpleMapCreator's written reviews are positive against 45% of Book Creator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SimpleMapCreator ships an update every 3 months, Book Creator every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
