# Koofr vs IDrive Photo Backup

The clearest difference is rating: IDrive Photo Backup at 4.3 against Koofr's 3.8. IDrive Photo Backup also leads on ratings volume (699 vs 29). Koofr's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IDrive Photo Backup sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Koofr asks for nothing beyond the download.

IDrive Photo Backup holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IDrive Photo Backup has 699 ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Koofr's written reviews are positive against 39% of IDrive Photo Backup's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Koofr ships an update every 5 days, IDrive Photo Backup monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
