# DNA Fusion vs HID Reader Manager

The clearest difference is rating: DNA Fusion at 4.5 against HID Reader Manager's 2.6. DNA Fusion also leads on iOS requirement (8.1 vs 14.0). HID Reader Manager's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 22 months) and ratings volume (26 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DNA Fusion holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HID Reader Manager has 26 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of DNA Fusion's written reviews are positive against 12% of HID Reader Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DNA Fusion ships an update every 22 months, HID Reader Manager every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
