# dCourseWeb vs RightNow Media

The clearest difference is update cadence: RightNow Media at monthly against dCourseWeb's every 14 months. RightNow Media also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 5). dCourseWeb's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.8 for dCourseWeb against 3.8 for RightNow Media. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RightNow Media has 1.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 40% of dCourseWeb's written reviews are positive against 37% of RightNow Media's.

dCourseWeb ships an update every 14 months, RightNow Media monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
