# Taxi First vs Need

The clearest difference is rating: Need at 4.9 against Taxi First's 4.6. On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Need holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 13 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Taxi First's written reviews are positive against 52% of Need's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Taxi First ships an update every 5 weeks, Need every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
