# Text Comp vs SHIKUMI

The clearest difference is update cadence: Text Comp at every 2 days against SHIKUMI's every 2 months. Text Comp also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Comp sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SHIKUMI sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Comp ships an update every 2 days, SHIKUMI every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
