# Checkers II vs Checkers ‣

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Checkers II at none against Checkers ‣'s 1. Checkers II also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (60% vs 42%). Checkers ‣'s advantage is ratings volume (3.5K vs 30). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Checkers ‣ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Checkers II asks for nothing beyond the download.

Checkers ‣ holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Checkers ‣ has 3.5K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Checkers II's written reviews are positive against 42% of Checkers ‣'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Checkers II ships an update every 6 months, Checkers ‣ every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
