# Audio Notebook vs QuickNotes X

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Audio Notebook at none against QuickNotes X's 11. Audio Notebook also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 38%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). QuickNotes X's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (3.8K vs 4). On price and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QuickNotes X sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months. Audio Notebook asks for nothing beyond the download.

QuickNotes X holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QuickNotes X has 3.8K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Audio Notebook's written reviews are positive against 38% of QuickNotes X's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Audio Notebook ships an update every 3 months, QuickNotes X every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
