# Period Tracker ‎ vs Soso

The clearest difference is ads: Soso at none against Period Tracker ‎'s shown. Soso also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Period Tracker ‎'s advantage is ratings volume (8.3K vs 805) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Period Tracker ‎ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Soso sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Soso holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Period Tracker ‎ has 8.3K ratings behind it against 805, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Period Tracker ‎'s written reviews are positive against 92% of Soso's.

Period Tracker ‎ ships an update every 3 months, Soso every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
