# CarLock vs Bouncie

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bouncie at free against CarLock's subscription. Bouncie also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). CarLock's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 73%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bouncie holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bouncie has 6K ratings behind it against 360, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of CarLock's written reviews are positive against 73% of Bouncie's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CarLock ships an update monthly, Bouncie weekly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
