# Dayre vs Simple Diary

The clearest difference is rating: Simple Diary at 4.8 against Dayre's 4.0. Simple Diary also leads on ratings volume (909 vs 9). Dayre's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dayre sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Simple Diary sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Diary has 909 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Dayre's written reviews are positive against 78% of Simple Diary's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dayre ships an update every 8 days, Simple Diary every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
