# SEPTA vs DART Transit

The clearest difference is rating: SEPTA at 4.4 against DART Transit's 2.8. SEPTA also leads on ratings volume (29K vs 78). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SEPTA holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SEPTA has 29K ratings behind it against 78, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of SEPTA's written reviews are positive against 16% of DART Transit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SEPTA ships an update every 3 weeks, DART Transit monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
