# SEPTA vs Old Swedes

The clearest difference is rating: Old Swedes at 5.0 against SEPTA's 4.4. Old Swedes also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). SEPTA's advantage is ratings volume (29K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Old Swedes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SEPTA has 29K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SEPTA ships an update every 3 weeks, Old Swedes every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
