# SHAREit vs HaloVPN

SHAREit and HaloVPN both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 74% of HaloVPN's written reviews are positive against 27% of SHAREit's. HaloVPN also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). SHAREit's advantage is ratings volume (151K vs 16K) and chart position (#79 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SHAREit sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days and HaloVPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for SHAREit against 4.7 for HaloVPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SHAREit has 151K ratings behind it against 16K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 27% of SHAREit's written reviews are positive against 74% of HaloVPN's.

SHAREit ships an update fortnightly, HaloVPN every 4 days. Both last shipped on November 8, 2026.
