# SHAREit vs Data Drop

SHAREit and Data Drop both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 74% of Data Drop's written reviews are positive against 28% of SHAREit's. Data Drop also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). SHAREit's advantage is ratings volume (151K vs 157) and chart position (#103 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SHAREit sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days and Data Drop sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Data Drop holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SHAREit has 151K ratings behind it against 157, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 28% of SHAREit's written reviews are positive against 74% of Data Drop's.

SHAREit ships an update fortnightly, Data Drop weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
