# Notepad vs Screen Recorder

The clearest difference is update cadence: Notepad at every 8 days against Screen Recorder's every 4 months. Notepad also leads on ratings volume (29K vs 3). Screen Recorder's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Screen Recorder sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Recorder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad has 29K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Notepad ships an update every 8 days, Screen Recorder every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
