# Notepad vs Telescopic

The clearest difference is ads: Telescopic at none against Notepad's shown. Telescopic also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (28K vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Telescopic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Telescopic holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad has 28K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Notepad ships an update every 8 days, Telescopic weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
