# Mindown vs Transom Note

The clearest difference is rating: Mindown at 5.0 against Transom Note's 4.6. Transom Note's advantage is ratings volume (84 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mindown sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Transom Note sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mindown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Transom Note has 84 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Mindown's written reviews are positive against 70% of Transom Note's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mindown ships an update every 2 months, Transom Note every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
