# Peer Chat vs Meshtastic

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Meshtastic at 824 against Peer Chat's 9. Meshtastic also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.8). Peer Chat's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 17.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Meshtastic holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Meshtastic has 824 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Peer Chat's written reviews are positive against 44% of Meshtastic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
