# BTBN vs Living Scriptures

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BTBN at none against Living Scriptures's 8. BTBN also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Living Scriptures's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 85 months) and ratings volume (10K vs 2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Living Scriptures sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. BTBN asks for nothing beyond the download.

BTBN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Living Scriptures has 10K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BTBN ships an update every 85 months, Living Scriptures monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
