# BTBN vs Pure Flix

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BTBN at none against Pure Flix's 10. BTBN also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). Pure Flix's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 85 months) and ratings volume (14K vs 2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pure Flix sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. BTBN asks for nothing beyond the download.

BTBN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pure Flix has 14K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BTBN ships an update every 85 months, Pure Flix every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
