# eBeacon vs MQTT

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: eBeacon at none against MQTT's 2. eBeacon also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 16 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MQTT sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. eBeacon asks for nothing beyond the download.

eBeacon ships an update every 2 months, MQTT every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
