# Xfinity Stream vs GuestScreen

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Xfinity Stream at none against GuestScreen's 10. Xfinity Stream also leads on ratings volume (270K vs 1) and chart position (#126 vs unranked). GuestScreen's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GuestScreen sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Xfinity Stream asks for nothing beyond the download.

GuestScreen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xfinity Stream has 270K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Xfinity Stream ships an update every 2 months, GuestScreen weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
