# Xfinity Stream vs KMTS

The clearest difference is ads: KMTS at none against Xfinity Stream's shown. KMTS also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Xfinity Stream's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (268K vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KMTS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xfinity Stream has 268K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Xfinity Stream ships an update every 2 months, KMTS every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
