# Backgammon Arena vs Backgammon Rounds

The clearest difference is rating: Backgammon Rounds at 5.0 against Backgammon Arena's 4.3. Backgammon Rounds also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). Backgammon Arena's advantage is ratings volume (71 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Arena sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Backgammon Rounds sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backgammon Rounds holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Arena has 71 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Backgammon Arena ships an update every 2 months, Backgammon Rounds every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
