# Emphasis vs Zone

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Zone at none against Emphasis's 6. Zone also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Emphasis's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 24 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 1). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Emphasis sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Zone asks for nothing beyond the download.

Zone holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Emphasis has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Emphasis ships an update fortnightly, Zone every 24 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
