# Emphasis vs Moment

The clearest difference is rating: Emphasis at 4.7 against Moment's 3.7. Emphasis also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 3). Moment's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Emphasis sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Moment sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Emphasis holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Emphasis has 1.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Emphasis's written reviews are positive against 88% of Moment's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Emphasis ships an update fortnightly, Moment every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
