# Cursive Words vs Cursive

The clearest difference is rating: Cursive at 4.5 against Cursive Words's 3.8. Cursive also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (4.9K vs 353). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cursive Words sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Cursive sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cursive holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cursive has 4.9K ratings behind it against 353, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Cursive Words's written reviews are positive against 65% of Cursive's.

Cursive Words ships an update every 12 months, Cursive every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
