# Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) vs Color Notepad

The clearest difference is rating: Color Notepad at 4.5 against Note Box (Minimalistic Notes)'s 3.2. Color Notepad also leads on ratings volume (603 vs 30). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Color Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Color Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Color Notepad has 603 ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Note Box (Minimalistic Notes)'s written reviews are positive against 47% of Color Notepad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
