# Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) vs Notes & Tasks

The clearest difference is rating: Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) at 3.2 against Notes & Tasks's 2.5. Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (30 vs 2). Notes & Tasks's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 49%) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 14.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notes & Tasks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Note Box (Minimalistic Notes) has 30 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Note Box (Minimalistic Notes)'s written reviews are positive against 60% of Notes & Tasks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
