# Spades Gold vs Backgammon Pro Online

Spades Gold and Backgammon Pro Online both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 79% of Spades Gold's written reviews are positive against 30% of Backgammon Pro Online's. Spades Gold also leads on ratings volume (4.3K vs 341). Backgammon Pro Online's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spades Gold sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Backgammon Pro Online sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Spades Gold against 4.7 for Backgammon Pro Online. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spades Gold has 4.3K ratings behind it against 341, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Spades Gold's written reviews are positive against 30% of Backgammon Pro Online's.

Spades Gold ships an update every 5 months, Backgammon Pro Online every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
