# Tesseract! vs Flying Cut

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tesseract! at 88% against Flying Cut's 23%. Tesseract! also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Flying Cut's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 66 months) and ratings volume (30K vs 4). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flying Cut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Tesseract! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flying Cut holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flying Cut has 30K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Tesseract!'s written reviews are positive against 23% of Flying Cut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tesseract! ships an update every 66 months, Flying Cut monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
