# IELTSpeaking vs IELTS Flex

The clearest difference is rating: IELTS Flex at 5.0 against IELTSpeaking's 4.6. IELTSpeaking's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IELTSpeaking sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and IELTS Flex sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $68.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IELTS Flex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IELTSpeaking has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IELTSpeaking ships an update every 5 days, IELTS Flex fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
