# IELTSpeaking vs IELTS Computer

The clearest difference is rating: IELTS Computer at 5.0 against IELTSpeaking's 4.6. IELTSpeaking's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 4) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IELTSpeaking sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and IELTS Computer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IELTS Computer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IELTSpeaking has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 94% of IELTSpeaking's written reviews are positive against 100% of IELTS Computer's.

IELTSpeaking ships an update every 5 days, IELTS Computer every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
