# AprilTag vs Unitree Go

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Unitree Go at 58% against AprilTag's 25%. Unitree Go also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 33 months) and ratings volume (28 vs 9). AprilTag's advantage is rating (3.6 vs 3.4) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AprilTag holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 28 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of AprilTag's written reviews are positive against 58% of Unitree Go's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AprilTag ships an update every 33 months, Unitree Go fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
