# It's Playing Lt vs MX Player

The clearest difference is review sentiment: It's Playing Lt at 79% against MX Player's 34%. It's Playing Lt also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). MX Player's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MX Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. It's Playing Lt asks for nothing beyond the download.

MX Player holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MX Player has 4.3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of It's Playing Lt's written reviews are positive against 34% of MX Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

It's Playing Lt ships an update every 5 months, MX Player monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
