# Audiobooks vs Audioteka

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Audiobooks at 77% against Audioteka's 37%. Audiobooks also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). Audioteka's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Audiobooks sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Audioteka sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Audioteka holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.2K and 1.5K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Audiobooks's written reviews are positive against 37% of Audioteka's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Audiobooks ships an update every 3 weeks, Audioteka fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
