# Sun Valley Resort vs Timberline Mountain

The clearest difference is ads: Timberline Mountain at none against Sun Valley Resort's shown. Timberline Mountain also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 30%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Sun Valley Resort's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 18). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sun Valley Resort holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sun Valley Resort has 3.5K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Sun Valley Resort's written reviews are positive against 50% of Timberline Mountain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sun Valley Resort ships an update every 6 months, Timberline Mountain every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
