# Mahjong (single machine) vs Mahjong Stand

The clearest difference is rating: Mahjong Stand at 4.6 against Mahjong (single machine)'s 2.0. Mahjong Stand also leads on ratings volume (516 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). Mahjong (single machine)'s advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mahjong Stand holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mahjong Stand has 516 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Mahjong (single machine)'s written reviews are positive against 66% of Mahjong Stand's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mahjong (single machine) ships an update every 3 weeks, Mahjong Stand every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
